The Herb Boat
What a wonderful bank holiday weekend trading in Newbury! Lots of people and sunshine made a busy three days. I met other traders, made new friends and had fun chatting to all my lovely customers.
I sold a lot of pieces, so I’ll need to work hard now for Christmas and moor up somewhere quiet. Continue reading Newbury Floating Market
We treated ourselves to a trip to the Budapest Christmas Market at the beginning of December. The variety of stalls was amazing.
Considering the history during the war there is a lot of beautiful architecture still left to see, a lovely city indeed.
There’s been a bit of a gap in my blog posts. We’ve holed up in a quiet spot for some boat maintenance and a place to get the motorbike off. Also a quick visit back to our home town for my son’s birthday. We have to keep him happy as he deals with all our post and random parcels!
The end of this week our pop up shop boat should be found in Cheshunt somewhere beside the picnic spot and car park.
I intend to be open on Saturday and Sunday from 10.30ish to 5ish.
We’ve had a lovely week in Ware, even though my partner couldn’t get a signal to watch the bike racing! Many people stopped to chat and I was pleased to sell some unusual pieces.
We are now moving on, hoping to find a mooring in Hertford for a few days, before going back down The Lee.
I think my cat will be happier with less people and bicycles, but I’ve told her that’s what pays for her food!
Please follow me online with my blog. Our boat is called ‘Unfazed’ , a blue and cream widebeam with a Fazer 1000 motorbike in the bow footwell!
We’re travelling along the river Lea and now the Stort. After being warned some of the bridges are very low, we decided to set off after a long dry spell. Unfortunately this is one we didn’t manage to get under! The only damage was our tunnel light.
So, after mooring before the bridge, out with the bikes and we cycled to the end of the navigation at Bishops Stortford. A very interesting town when we visited the museum.
Sadly I can’t trade because we’re not near any towns with good footfall. See you all soon.
Talking to a customer in Paddington Basin.
After a happy and successful 4 day event in Paddington Basin we’re resting for a few days by Victoria Park. Finally found a space to moor last night, my goodness The Regents Canal is so full!
We’re going on up the Lee Navigation to Broxbourne where I was born on a 40ft narrow boat.
Only 15 miles, 30 locks and 3 more days of travelling to arrive by Tuesday. Sounds easy, with a quick weekend trading in Rickmansworth on the way!
For the Bank Holiday weekend we’ll be ‘Rocking the Locks’! The Three Locks Pub is having a Beer Festival with trade boats too.
We’ll be trying to sell jewellery and sampling the beer!!
After a quiet few days making more pieces and relaxing, we’re on the move. It’s a bit windy which makes open sections tricky! Still at least it’s not raining!
These pendants are £16 by post or £12 if you find me. Look out for a widebeam boat called ‘Unfazed’ with a motorbike on the front!
Next place to find us is Great Lindford, Milton Keynes for 21st and 22nd May.
Over the Bank Holiday weekend we should be in Berkhamstead just past The Rising Sun pub.
Little houses we’ve made to display my jewellery outside. Now mounted on backboard ready to trade from the boat.
